It's been a long time since 71PR has posted anything to Tigernet due to an extended battle with cancer. Today, Ron peacefully and contently passed on to his heavenly home for eternity. Many of you have reached out to him throughout his battle to express support and concern. Our family wishes to extend our thanks and gratitude for your support. In typical 71PR fashion, he would have wanted one final sign off to wish you all well and to express on final "Go Tigers!".

Your dad was one of my heroes. A number of times I had posted about my admiration of how he handled his cancer. I could only hope that I would have been able to handle it half as well. My sincere condolences to you and the rest of his family. I have no doubt that you were raised in his image and will carry on the legacy of a great man. let me say that I'm so sorry for your loss. Ron and I worked together at the Wells Fargo Championship as Hole Captains for many years and it was always a pleasure to be around him and talk Clemson. He and I would always show up at our meetings wearing orange and, along with Kendall Alley, were the only Clemson people in the house. What a GREAT PERSON your Dad was! May he live in your hearts forever.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I finished Clemson in '72 and your dad and I shared a few common friends. Although I am now in Roanoke, VA, I am originally from Rock Hill. Your dad and I had a few chats on T-mail during a period when I returned to Rock Hill to care for parents.
Stand tall. Smile when you remember your dad. Be grateful for what you have rather than disappointed in what you don't have. If once a Tiger means that you are always a Tiger, then we will be Tigers forever.

Very sad to hear of your loss. I can only assume that the "PR" was for the Pershing Rifles, and if so, I am doubly sad for you and your family. I too was in the Pershing Rifles my freshman year '68-'69, and loved that group. And a "Go Tigers" back to PR71.

Lightning, dad was in PR in '68-'69. Larry Harper was the commander. One year (I'm not sure), he cut his hand on his bayonet and had to stop for the rest of that year. We have his PR wool sweater with the block C letter on it. He loved PR and our military heritage as his father and my grandfather was a '41 grad.....
