why is the acc tourney

moving further and further away from the heart of ACC country. Seems in a couple more years we'll be watching these game in Toronto. What gives? I know that it will be back in Charlotte then Greensboro for the 2019 and 20 tourneys but why have 3 consecutive years up north. The fan base is no where close to these site excluding Syracuse and BC has no fan base to speak of. Should never have moved up that way in the first place.

Tons of Clemson fans in the DC metro area. I have 5 tickets for today's session's games and can't wait to watch the Tigers play in person (with Maryland gone, there are no local opportunities anymore unless you consider Charlottesville local to DC. Hint: it's not).

It along with Baseball all need to move to Charlotte.
Basketball can be played at the Hornets place and Baseball can be played at the Knights brand new BAD ### stadium downtown.
Make Charlotte the home of the ACC.
Kinda like how the SEC has most of their stuff in ATL.

While the $EC football championship game is played in Atlanta, the men's hoops tournament is in Nashville, the women's hoops tournament is in Jacksonville, the softball tournament is in Starkville and the baseball tournament is routinely played in Hoover, Alabama.

When did mens hoops move out of ATL?
I guess I missed that if so my bad. IMO that is a stupid decsion by them. I think from a marketing stand point having everything under one roof/city is a great move.

in the last ten years.
Nashville is effectively the new home for the next ten years although they do play it in St. Louis in 2018 and Tampa in 2022.

because Greensboro is a dump and the ACC has grown to the point that we shouldn't have our tournament in a mid-market city. Charlotte, Atlanta, DC & New York (maybe Miami) are the only viable options going forward.

heard complain about the ACCT NOT being held in North Carolina
How many millions of dollars do you figure the state of North Carolina has made off the tournament over the 60+ years its been staged---primarily in Greensboro....which is approx 70 miles from unc, duke, and NCSt and about 20 miles from Winston---which, of course, means most of those dollars came from fans of the rest of the member schools spent on hotels, fuel, meals, etc...........don't ya think some of the revenue should be spread out to small businesses elsewhere
for years, some tobacco rd schools scheduled reg.season games in Greensboro and Charlotte so there was not only a huge edge in fans but they were familiar with the entire facility where the tournament (& regional) was held
the ACCT SHOULD have been divided amongst other venues starting long ago and much more frequently than it has been
