Dabo's a hard one to "come after" because he won't fight. We've already seen this movie, about a dozen times.

Dabo deflects this kind of stuff incredibly well...mostly because he won't make it an "us or them" type situation. He doesn't take political stances and that's proven incredibly wise over the years; even when, say, WaPo decides they're going to write what obviously started out as a hit piece on him because he's folksy and Southern and Christian and unapologetic about it, you can see the piece sort of fizzle out as the reporter does his interviews, talks to people around Dabo...and is forced to grudgingly concede Dabo's an allright guy really.

If BLM or any other Super-PAC - which is exactly what the organization called BLM is now in the process of becoming - wants to take aim at Dabo and try to makep political hey at his expense, let them. He'll shrug, be Dabo, talk from the heart, refuse to be drawn into a political crossfire, and keep right on doing what he's always done and if you've a problem with it, Oh, Well...and BLM will do what everybody who tries to target Dabo always ends up doing - seek their drama elsewhere, because there's just none to be found with Dabo.

It takes two to create drama, and Dabo is just not a good dance partner for that sort of thing.

Probably the best post I have read on here in years. Thanks.

So what you are saying is Dabo is cut from the same bolt of cloth as Bobby Bowden. The more sucessful Bobby was the more he was attacked for his Christian faith. He was called a racist, a hypocrite, a guy who gave preferential treatment to his Christian players, etc.

He handled it with humor, self deprecation, and humility.

Sound familiar?

One consistent thing I see missing in Dabo hit pieces are

actual interviews with the man. They may lift quotes or dwell on statements from prior interviews or press conferences, where the context is largely absent, or interview others, but I've yet to see such a piece where the writer actually asked Dabo questions direct for the story. To me that reflects both a laziness and a desire to push an agenda not backed by substance.

This might blow up in the faces of BLM. People and opinions are trending away from them. Then factor in a real spiritual revival and weariness with violence and character accusations and assassinations, then you may see players of all colors wake up and support Clemson in a big way. Evil is not the most powerful force on the planet.

See above.

Vitriol just fizzles around Dabo. It's not what he's about.

Yes. Their polling numbers are dropping. Targeting Dabo not a smart move for that marxist organization.

IF it happens, I predict a backfire. Even the NBA is removing the political references next season.

This is just the hacks at Outkick fear mongering for clicks. All they did was pick a prominent Christian and say they COULD target him. No reason to think they will but Outkick connected some dots that don't make a picture and say its BLMs plan.

Recruiting. It will take a few years to show up but you can’t have coaches using the n word in any form. I think pearman did nothing wrong but black people think a white person using the n word is the worst thing in the world

Not surprised. Dabo can't win as there are nutcases here who attack him from the other side.

If he's getting flak from both extremes, he's probably right where he needs to be.
