Justin Fields is The Real Deal, but...

Dec 29, 2019, 2:30 PM

Did you notice that after only one interception all season, he had 2 against Clemson? Sounds kinda like That last year.

Not going to lie - I was IMPRESSED by Justin Fields.

My initial thought going into the game is this dude hasn't faced pressure like Clemson was going to bring and that would be a Clemson advantage...

Dude pulled together a helluva game and proved me wrong. Didn't help to have the beast in Dobbins to slash Clemson up the first couple of drives but Fields held his own.

***Didn't hurt to have Dobbins**

Should have been a pick 6 plus another interception

Dec 29, 2019, 2:39 PM

He was luck to get away with only two interceptions.

Correct.

OSU wants to whine about things not going their way, but man we definitely should have had two more interceptions.

There was the K'von drop that may have gone for 6

What's the other INT that we missed?

Our 5 star WR turned DB dropped one right in his hands***

Watching the replay on that one he turned and it hit him.

Have to give him a pass on that one. Kvon for sure should have had the pick-6!

really? i didnt see anything impressive

Dec 29, 2019, 3:00 PM

pocket awareness just ok
arm strength ok
hard to assess mobility
seemed to be illegally moving forward on those cheap quicksnaps

definitely better than fromm, but 40/1 seems like an indictment of big10 more than anything

He played extremely well. His first reads were good, but he basically gave Simmons a catch. I thought he was a little bit "robotic" which might be an OC dream but does not have that ability to adjust as easily.

And yeah, Dobbins nearly won OSU that game. Imagine if Day and Co actually shut him down with 100 fewer carries this season and he had fresh legs. Ouch.

I was more impressed with the coordinators of OSU. Holy moly, they had us to begin the game and nearly pulled it off. Give BV and Elliot credit for the adjustments but dang, OSU was well coached and better prepared.

An interesting item was that the game came down to which team's back had the best hands.... and ETN was better.
