BIDEN changed nothing. We can start off with that right off the bat.
Second, the WHO issued that report, which....CHANGED NOTHING. It reaffirmed their previous guidance which is simply....
If your test result does not match your clinical presentation, get another test. Which is what is already done, has been done, and will continue to be done. It changed no thresholds for the testing. Nor did Biden.
If you have no symptoms and test positive, wait a few days and get another test. If you have symptoms and test negative, get another test. If you have no symptoms and test negative, you're good to go. If you have symptoms and test positive, you're good to go.
My FIL tested negative, TWICE, with symptoms. His wife, MIL, also got symptoms, got tested, and was positive. FIL was positive on this third test, after over a week of being sick. I know no one who has tested positive who didn't get some level of symptoms, or already had them. I know several people who have had false negatives with symptoms.
The accuracy with covid tests are very similar to the flu tests. Positive results are highly accurate. Like 99%. Negative tests are less accurate. Roughly 15% of influenza tests that are negative, are false negatives.
Furthermore, the WHO also mentions that there's a level of the virus, that leads to covid. And a level of it, which doesn't. Same with influenza. SIL tested positive, hardly has any symptoms. In fact, she would have normally thought she had a sinus infection or something if she didn't know otherwise. Not even anything she would visit her doctor for. Her 9yo son, however, also tested positive, has a 104 fever, and has slept for most of the past few days.
And as for facts, well, here's the article. Doesn't mention Biden. Doesn't change anything. Every test, from every company is different. They each have thresholds, and they're different for each test. Same thing with influenza tests. They recommended that companies who make tests do what they already do, study the thresholds they use to make sure they're optimal for providing the most accurate results. They didn't SET ANYTHING. BIDEN didn't set anything. Ideally, about the best you can do is have 98-99% accuracy for positive results and around 85% for negative results.

It is amazing what happens when you look for the facts - instead of just reading a misleading, sensationalistic headline (from lifesitenews ??) to confirm your biases.
Do you think the WHO is concerned with Biden's inauguration ? They have a world-wide pandemic on their hands.
Or that these testing standards were # 1 on Biden's list of things to do once he became President ? Do you have ANY evidence of such - or is it all innuendo and self-confirmation.
Isaac Asimov said that he would believe anything - if it was supported by evidence (see attached)
Perhaps we should all apply this sentiment to the news. The more outrageous the headline - the more we should examine the entire story - for actual evidence to support the headline.

1 - Xtiger didn't post any facts. He made reference to something with no link.
2 - The WHO testing guidance change doesn't automatically change anything in regards to how testing and positive cases are reported. Until the CDC and state health agencies change the actual way positives are reported, this has not real impact. DHEC reports number of positives from the test labs. To the best of my knowledge, they don't distinguish based on actual test levels - it's either positive or negative.
3 - Even if...and that's a big if...they changed the definition of a positive, how do we automatically know number of positive cases would "plummet"? Wouldn't we have to know the number of positive cases that fall into this changed sensitivity category?
4 - I would agree that the timing is odd, but don't we need some kind of evidence first before we proclaim it politically motivated, or have we just given up on that all together?
5 - Is the WHO really all that focused specifically on the US to where they would even care about timing to support something here?

Hey guys it is definitely a coincidence that the following happened right after joe Biden was inaugurated. Definitely nothing to see here. And if you think something looks off, you are a whacko deep state conspiracy theorist.
- Amazon announced that they will help in the distribution of the vaccine. Not a peep from them prior to the announcement.
- New York, California, Michigan, Illinois have all started opening back up despite the pandemic being worse today than at any point in the last year
- apparently schools are safe now.
- sensitivity levels of the tests have been reduced.
Also if you think covid came from anywhere other than someone from wuhan ate a bat then you are also a crazy conspiracy theorist. It definitely didn’t get leaked out of a virology lab that works on coronavirus’ that is in Wuhan. Just another long line of coincidences.

I think people need to take a class in internet research, and critical thinking. I see a tendency to for people to just latch onto every single ridiculous thing they so truly want to believe, posted by the post ireputable members of this forum, and taken as the Gospel. When this kind of thing stops on a national level, and people begin actually doing their own research and putting their personal biases aside, then, and only then will we collectively wake up from the Bullshit nightmare and start healing as country.
But it starts with you, stop believing Bullshit.

I am a big fan of skepticism. I think you are smart to notice suspicious coincidences.
But here is the thing - that is only the first step in critical thinking. It means nothing unless you look for evidence to support your suspicions. If you just jump to the negative conclusion, you have not thought at all.
If you find ANY evidence to back up your suspicions/conclusions - we would ALL be interested in hearing about that.

Does it occur to you that when your source is REDSTATE that you might not be getting both sides of the issue - that the reporting MIGHT be biased - opinionated - sensationalistic ?
I listened to the audio of the person in question. There were parts of it with which I disagree, but the overall tenor of it was not nearly as lopsided as the headline and the story would project.
I f we are going to move forward as a nation, we ALL need to consider the other person's position - to look for an honest understanding that seeks to find some common ground.
The demonization of the other side, whichever one that may be, might make one feel better but it does nothing to actually make us better. To the contrary, it makes us all worse off.
