Your television news and sports is controlled by two companies that work together and have controlling interest in each other's work. Netflix has a strong, agenda-based flavoring for all it's original content as does Amazon, HBO and similar. With all of this, the majority of people are influenced by the bubble they put themselves in with social media which is just an echo chamber of angry, ill-informed people.
The coming decades will be interesting as you will realize (likely not) you have less choices about anything. It's not new, it's what has been happening for two decades now. For many people, this is okay, because they trust everything they hear and read because they don't know better. Just pick the news channel that makes you feel secure and soak it in. Nobody expects you to think for yourself.
