No surprise Dabo didn't delay in this hire
With XT due on campus in 6 days, really needed to have the guy in place to start building that relationship
Hope XT's parents join him
Also, having Vic and Grady in the SB should help with XT

I'm sure Dabo didn't hurry up or change the way he found a coach because of XT. Having a coach in place will help and Dabo wants XT but changing coaches is something Dabo doesn't do without looking, searching and interviewing until he's sure he has the Coach the good Lord would have him hire.
I believe he found a great coach for defensive line.
Go Tigers!

Dabo fixes it when it doesn't work, but he can make a mistake same as anyone.

Dabo canned Spence but Bowden hired him.

I thought Dabo had retained him for awhile, but no.

The day Dabo was handed the coaching job, his first move was removing Spence. It was a no brainer removing Steele after the WVU game, but I think Napier was released a little too soon. I don't know the story behind his release, but I guess Dabo had his reasons.

I liked Napier as an OC, the problem though

Was that he wants to run out of the power I and then throw play action - just line Bama. Dabo, however, wanted the spread. This lead to confrontations in practice and Dabo meddling with the play calling. Because of their differing offensive philosophies, Dabo should have not given Napier the job after the interim period.

Dabo wanted to run the spread and Napier did not. He had no experience with it at all. Exit Billy, enter Chad Morris. Chad taught the spread to our staff.

Dabo fired spence. Can't pin that on him. How could he build national championship staff over night. I thought for where he was at in his career he did pretty good to get KS. It takes time to build the staff that we currently have.

seriously, part of the reason he has been so successful is that he is an organizational genius.

surprise. Even if it did, I feel sure he already had a list of potential replacements. I'll also bet he didn't get turned down....at least by more than one coach....so I'm thinking Bates was high on the list!
