You’d think the coots would embrace pay to play

Oct 2, 2019, 11:27 AM

First of all if you believe players don’t ever find a wad of cash left by a booster at just about every school across the nation, you’re being naive. It happens - pretty much no way to stop it from happening. Boosters desperate for athletic success are just too hard to reign in completely. And Lord knows there are some desperate boosters in Cootlumbia.

But once it’s all above the table and all the checks and balances are off, it becomes the wild, wild, west in relation to corrupting the sport with money. This could actually be a game changer for them. All the parameters change and they could possibly be re-born perhaps not sucking this time. This might be their only chance to change their fortunes. They should embrace the idea with open arms.

I'm not sure that we can compete in a pay for play era, but I am pretty sure that UofSuC cannot.
