I think it was that Jeff was more ready to give Head coaching a chance, than TE was at this point their careers.

Could be a personal relationship thing where someone at USF knew Jeff or someone close to Jeff (maybe his father).

Because Jeff Scott was the best coordinator on the best program in the country.

He was also the recruiting coordinator for that same program, with some outstanding recruiting classes.

I also think Jeff Scott has the “it” factor in terms of personality, leadership, and vision.

I think Tony Elliott is a very smart guy, who is accomplished in his own right. But he’s no Jeff Scott IMO.
