Receiver was Terry Beasley. Sullivan threw bombs to Beasley at will. We were destroyed. They could have scored as many points that day as they had wanted to score. To add salt to the wound, it was hot as Hades; hot enough to give you a heat stroke. Thank goodness those "good old" days are behind us.
For those of us who lived through the sixties and seventies, the present is simply surreal. If I'm dreaming, please, please don't wake me. Thank you Dabo for saving us from irrelevance during realignment and taking us to the mountaintop. Go Tigers and spot the #### ball.

Pat Sullivan won the Heisman, and I think Beasley won some kind of award as well. Gotta love those 42-0 Homecoming games, but NOT when the home team gets the 0.

My freshman year in Tiger Band. I also drove to Auburn the next year to witness them whipping us again.

I was at CLEMSON at that time, but I don't remember that specific game. At the end of Frank Howard's career, our teams were horrible IMO. As one poster stated, it was Hootie's first year, so he probably did not have much to work with.
Interesting thing about Sullivan. I was at UAB Medical when Pat was an assistant coach for UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) football. When the HC was fired, everyone thought Pat would be promoted to HC. But since UAB was affiliated with Alabama football, and Pat was an Auburn alum, then he was passed over. He then went to Samford (I think), which is a small college in Birmingham. Bamers would not allow an Auburn alum run their program. It was funny to watch that unfold.
