When you considered Dabo and Saban are making between 9 and 10 million to coach college football 12 to coach in the NFL sounds reasonable.
I think those numbers in general are absolutely crazy and ridiculous, but it is what it is and it is the law of supply and demand and there’s no way you would expect a big-time NFL coach to make less than a college coach.

Dabo and Saban are the top two performing coaches in college football right now. Urban has never coached a single NFL game...he hasn't proven he can success there, and thus hasn't earned a top tier salary.

If you want to hire an elite candidate, you have to pay for them. 12mil is maybe a tad high as I'm looking at NFL coaching salaries because that's what Bill B. and Pete Carroll are making, but I don't think it's entirely unreasonable either.

Belichick, who is a six-time Super Bowl champion, and possibly Pete Carroll, are the only NFL coaches making $12 million plus annually.
Surely the Jags aren't foolish enough to give a person with absolutely ZERO NFL coaching experience that kind of money unless it is largely incentive based.

base salary with that other six million based on achieving certain winning goals.
Winning Record - $1 Mil
Winning Division - $1 Mil
Winning Playoff Game - $1 Mil
Making Super Bowl - $1 Mil
Winning Super Bowl - $2 Mil
Contract renegotiated if all 5 goals accomplished.
As a first time NFL Head Coach with absolutely ZERO experience in the league, that would be a more than fair contract.

The owner is worth 8 billion. I don't think he is stressing about a few million. Also, Urban Meyer would be put more fans in the seats.
