What last year's recruit is the most butthurt today

Jan 12, 2019, 5:56 PM

Not choosing Clemson? Obviously Belk because he was here and could have had a ring but choose to leave. What other one though? Maybe Patrick surtain Jr.

Josh Belk. Easily. What a loser.

Isn't KB still going to get a ring?

Not sure about Belk, but KB will almost certainly still get one.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Interesting question. Will he?***

I could see where some ppl might have something to say about KB, even though I personally understand his decision completely.

But no one should ever say anything negative about Hunter Johnson, Zerrick Cooper or Tucker Israel's decisions to leave the program. Zerrick Cooper got a bunch of playing time at Jacksonville State this year, and after he graduates next December with another season under his belt, he will still have one more season of eligibility left to play somewhere else.

I believe Hunter Johnson will be starting at Northwestern next year. He made a great decision for himself.

The kid that chose VT over Clemson because Bud Foster

Jan 12, 2019, 6:00 PM

according to his dad is the "best DC in the country" is probably telling his dad what a dumarse he is right about now. He should thank his dad for greatly decreasing his possibility of going to the NFL one day.

Dax Hollifield

He started as a freshman. That’s why he went there. He’s fine.

Fine? That kid would have obviously eaten the marshmallow.

There have been repeatable tests in psychology that prove those that choose instant gratification choose poorly with worse outcomes in the end.

His dad must not have been watching college football for the past decade. He would have had a strong argument a decade ago, but Foster's defense have declined dramatically with the proliferation of spread offenses since he always liked to run a 4-4 defense.

During that same time period Venables had improved from a borderline top 10 DC at OU to clearly the best DC in the country.

Smith? Literally? Did he tear his achilles or break his ankle?

I'm not sure Belk had a choice.***

How about the Joyner (sp?) guy? Number one recruit

Jan 12, 2019, 6:52 PM

in the state last year. Grew up a Clemson fan and really wanted to come there. However, he was an outstanding high school QB, and wanted to continue playing that position at the next level. HOWEVER, our staff saw him as a potentially great DB, but not a QB. Credit to the honest guys, we were up front with him. Another team in the state promised him he could be their next QB, after Bentley won the Heisman. Joyner hardly played all year. I cannot think of anyone that has more regrets. I will follow this up looking towards next year. The Pickins guy out of Anderson will have the same regrets this time next year.

Now the Coots have some other dude coming in who will probably beat Joyner out.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep, I think the decision to move him has already been made

Jan 12, 2019, 7:43 PM

now he is a coot and not a coot QB.

Don't really care. If they didn't want to come to Clemson,

Jan 12, 2019, 7:36 PM

that is their right. I also quit thinking about them. I like our dudes!
