With all of the commercials they have for these CFP games, there is a very good chance the Rose won't even be over by 8:45, especially if it is high-scoring. And both are going to be on ESPN? Going to be some problems.

They'll push the start time if they need to.***

Since championship game is in Atlanta, exactly 1 week from semi-finals game, they want both teams to have about the same rest. Teams coming back from west coast have a 3 hr disadvantage.

Last year there was 9 or 10 days between semi’s and finals.

I don't see a disadvantage for Rose Bowl winner. The Rose Bowl winner will be in the air shortly after the start of the Sugar Bowl and should be landing about the time the Sugar Bowl is ending(even sooner for Oklahoma.). It's the Sugar Bowl winner that will get back to their campus later.

Haha that has absolutely nothing to do with it. The rose bowl is always at 5pm and the sugar bowl is always right after. The are also always on New Year’s Day. The CFP has a contract to keep those 2 bowls at their traditional date and times.

That's OK. Most of us will be up watching the Clemson game anyway.

And that'd be 11:30 in NO. Now it doesn't sound so bad, does it.

I can somewhat understand having the Sugar bowl on New Years Day because I know they can’t change the Rose Bowl. But why is the NCAA hellbent on having their championships on Monday? Saturday’s are for college football!

UGA will run the ball constantly, wouldn't bee too worried at it overlapping.
