Embarrassing for the biggest baddest conference

On Monday, Fuller was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Just imagine if the ball had traveled more the 13 feet in the air. Talking Player of the Year I would think

she also told them how to act in the locker room at half time which I though was a nice touch for a rookie who did basically nothing in the game. She has a future as a Finebaum

My issue, a player who earned it on the field was shafted. Players train, study, and practice countless hours. She shows up on a Tuesday and gets an award on Saturday. A single squib kick earns an award. The only award she EARNED was Best Player Without a John Thomas.
I don't have a problem with her playing, or the publicity. The halftime speech is an internal problem and indicates how bad it is at Vandy, and I don't care. However, an award is ludicrous.

You really think that with a football team full of players there wasn't someone who had kicked in high school and middle school and could have done as well or better?
I'm guessing half the football team could have.

That was available, as I thought.
Apparently the Vandy coaches couldn't, either.
I haven't seen the Vandy coaching staff checking with TigerNet for their roster decisions. Maybe they should start?

Speculation is meaningless in light of the "on the field" statement.

would’ve done a better job than she did.
I would bet that a decent percentage of the Vanderbilt football team could’ve done as well if not better, despite no soccer or football kicking experience.
This whole stunt, which really shouldn’t be surprising in this day and age of “gender equality” and social justice, was insulting to the young men who have worked their whole lives to play college football.

This was a historic moment. She could have been the wide out on the end simply covering a kick off that sailed into the end zone... bottom line is, a female played a snap in a Power 5 game. THAT is history. THAT is what my 11 yr old daughter asked me about and showed me the clip over and over. It made her finally become interested in football. She can't wait to watch Clemson this Saturday night for THE FIRST TIME in her life... not because of "the kick" but because of the significance of the moment. Those of you who can't see that are either ignorant, misogynistic, fools or 10 year old boys. Those of you finding anything other than praise for this young lady are sickos. You should be ashamed.

What's that got to do with her winning ST player of week? Zero! Good for her on a weak ### kick, but a deserving player got shafted somewhere. And if that's what it took for your daughter to get excited to watch the Tigers .. that's on you dude!

With her playing .... if she earned it and was THAT good... your telling me there was no other option on the team or men’s soccer team that were better, again if she was really good and could nail a 30’yarder I don’t think anybody has an issue... it was clearly done for a diff reason which is also embarrassing and sad if you want the truth...
But my point is however you feel about her playing or why you think it was done is not the point ... her winning an award is exactly what’s wrong with the country right now and the way it’s headed ... that’s laughable to say the absolute least

Wrong. There were no open tryouts.
There was a high school kicker who reached out to the coaching staff and he was not given a chance to come and show what he could do.
And this is the nail in the coffin for exposing this total sham. The Vandy kicker from last year is still on campus in law school. He has eligibility left. He volunteered to come out and kick for the remainder of the season. But nope. They wanted a girl for a woke publicity stunt.
Add to that the punter could have kicked and there was a player who kicked off in high school on the team. Any of those people could have kicked much better then Fuller.

you brain damaged brainwashed liberals take this stuff.
Historic?
It was a sad pathetic virtue signaling stunt.
Women are NOT equal to men in sports or anything physical. Men and women are different physically, mentally, genetically, and emotionally. We have different interests. Almost everything about us is different. As nature intended. Men are better at some things, while women are better than men at others. Again, as nature intended.
I thought liberals believed in science?
This is basic science. Were you not taught biology or science in school? Ever spent any time in nature? Ever been naked with a girl? Little hint. You are different.
Please T-Mail me your mom's email address. I want to email her a list of suggested books as Christmas gifts for you. Some suggested reading.
The Origin of Species, a little book by a guy named Darwin. Maybe you've heard of him.
You could definitely benefit from some light bed time reading by Jordan Peterson.

I think the point was not that she made history and played in a game. The point was that she was given an award over all the other special teams players in the whole conference when all she did was made ONE kick which wasn't particularly impressive. I don't see where any comments were negative about her playing and making a kick. So do you think she deserves an award just because she is a woman?

It seems we are so interested in making history by inserting inferior individuals that we do a major disservice to future generations that may just in fact produce qualified individuals who rightly should be first an remembered. I could see the right woman being built to be a kicker and being darn good at it. Why the rush to make history? It’s asinine behavior on behalf of the so called “woke”.

The point is, reality is reality, no matter what you want. Movies where it shows women kicking a whole group of men's arses do more harm than good to a girl's perception of what a woman should be.
The fact that we point to exceptions to prove a false narrative is harmful.
I honestly don't care if a girl can kick or not; but I do care that it advances a movement that is much more damaging than helpful when she is praised for a performance that would have been ridiculed if it had been any other football player.

liberals believed in science.
Ever heard of Darwin, DNA, basic science, anatomy, etc.?
The average American man is 5'10 while the average woman is 5'6.
The average man has at least 30% more muscle mass.
Men and women are different physically, mentally, emotionally, genetically. All by design naturally. Men are better at some things, while women are better at others. Again, by design to ensure the success of the species.

In fact, it’s good.
Men and women both have their own strengths. We are different for a wonderful, beautiful purpose! The whole notion today that women have to be able to do everything equally as well as men, if not better, is ridiculous and misses the entire point.

Both Sarah Fuller and Jake Olson were situations where

they were being patronized. Difference is, we all know/knew that Jake was being patronized(and I am not inferring that patronizing is a bad thing). His family and he knew it.
Sarah Fuller's story is also patronage, but many don't realize it. They take it as a way to advance an agenda that needs not to be advanced. Sarah Fuller actually latched onto her position to try to take a leadership role, daring to call out her teammates and then tell the media about it.
One was an attempt at signaling virtue while the other was truly virtuous. That is the difference.

It is the reaction and reporting that was over the top. I'll give ger a pass on the KO. She was there to kick Extra Points and maybe a FG which she was doing in warm ups. There was a game in the last week or so that had 2 or 3 KOs go out of bounds, it may have been the Coots. The ball came out to the 35, same result. It was not her fault Vandy was so bad that her only chance to kick was 1 KO.

Looks like the "Everybody gets a trophy" feel good PC crowd is part of the SEC now. Shame on the PAC 12 for being 1 upped in this manner.
Glad to see that Ms. Fuller had the opportunity (if she actually earned it) but the Special Teams Player of the Week award was not actually earned on the field with just one squib kick but was given for PC reasons. It's the world we live in 2020.
We'll see if she gets more chances in Vandy's next game.
