It's directly across the street, and they evacuated it. Other MOCs in the building have said they were scared. Also, AOC says in the histrionic video that she was in her office, and not in the Capitol.
Her problem is exaggerating her personal terror by claiming she thought the Capitol Police were rioters (she's claimed elsewhere that maybe the Capitol Police were working with rioters and were out to get her), and then using all of this to get herself more special attention. Nancy Mace was two doors down and said she barricaded herself in her office, and was afraid to go back to her hotel because she'd seen Trump supporters there. But she managed to not think Capitol Police were after, and to not make this all about her.

tried to make it about herself or at least insert herself in order to raise her profile. I really have tried to ignore anything swirling around AOC because for whatever reason both sides seem to care about her way too much.
