Not sure why not that many carries, but I think we were being overly confident and not playing our best and getting experience and getting fine tuned with our best. Now we will do that.

I've been critical of the offense and playcalling, but this is dumb. We don't do that because it's a bad offense. It destroys backs. Etienne is also not that kind of running back. He's the kind of back you want to get into open space so he can use his speed and ability to break single man tackles to make big plays. We've done a bad job of that the past couple of weeks, but the solution is not to keep feeding him the ball and get him hurt. He's not a hard-nosed 5 yards and a cloud of dirt runner. Clemson needs to establish a balanced offense, with deep passes, slants, play-actions, and (a couple) screens, and the running game, because teams can only defend one of those aspects, not all of them. Clemson's gameplan the last couple of games has been to run Etienne up the middle a few times and rely on bubble screens and deep passes.

Because teams are loading the Box and our passing game is not consistent.

ETN averaged less than 14 carries per game last year. What makes you think he would get 20-25 per game this year, especially with LJD as the backup?
Also (as mentioned numerous times already), defenses are jamming the line whenever ETN is in the backfield. After what happened in the first game against GaTech, this makes total sense.
Another thing that will continue (more often than not) after the UNC game is the two-deep.
TL needs to sharpen up. The offense has to adapt, take what defenses give and become so efficient they will be forced to change tactics.
It's good these problems are happening now instead of later.
