Why does the world only see one side of it?

Aug 27, 2020, 9:06 AM

Do people not see that the man was ignoring the police while they have their guns drawn on him telling him to stop?? I am truly upset for the children in the car and for that guys family. That said he should have listened to the police. That cop that shot him has a family and maybe kids idk. Is he suppose to take the chance of getting killed? That man could have been reaching in his car to get a weapon. They should have stopped him before he got to the door though. Being a cop is tough guys. People need to start listening and respecting the police. Most of these things happen because of people resisting arrest. Idc if you are in the right or not just listen to them and fight it in court if need be.

Its getting worse about following the police not better. You are much better to comply then and let it get sorted out later but lots arent doing that. And folks protesting by throwing rocks and bottles at people with guns. Duhhh.

Huh?
Obey police and the shooting stops.
It’s very simple.

Aug 27, 2020, 9:13 AM

Yeah. Getting real sick of this. The guy violated a restraining order, fought off the cops, was tazed, still didn't comply, then went to reach into his car. How is the cop not supposed to take that as an imminent threat???

It's also now being reported that he had a knife on his driver's side floor board.

Yet it was police brutality towards a black man. It just happened go be a black man who didn't comply with the police.

Never mind it says he was 24 then and he is 29 now so I guess that was years ago.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly !!!!

Aug 27, 2020, 9:41 AM

The fact that he had a violent criminal history that involved assaults and weapons is no reason for law enforcement to be even remotely concerned today.

C'mon man !!!!

He has an outstanding warrant for that. He fought off the officers and walked to his car. He caused this to happen not the officer.

You can't...

interject facts, logic, and common sense into the equation.

That wouldn't be fair !!!!

Re: You can't...

Aug 27, 2020, 9:50 AM

I just really do not want to see this cops life ruined because he was put in a situtation where he had to make a decision with his life possible in jeopardy. I would be all for backing this equality movement if we were seeing videos of people complying with the police yet still getting beaten or shot. Ofcourse I love all people. It just seems that in majority black cities/towns a lot of crime happens and officers should be on high alert. If somebody resist arrest they are starting a problem that could end up in a horrible situation.

Aug 27, 2020, 9:53 AM

don't resist, fully comply police directives, and then settle it in court.

Facts are totally irrelevant to these clowns when they don't align with their agenda.

once he recovers from his injuries, he'll be going straight to jail for the outstanding arrest warrant for sexual assault, domestic abuse, trespassing, and disorderly conduct where he could be facing up to 8+ years in prison?

Agree,, This gets pretty old as there is always a background that rarely is reported.

With rare exception, the majority of these officer involved shootings would never have taken place if the individual complied with instruction.

It's not as much of a police problem as it is parenting, education, environment..- many don't have a chance anyway because of personal choices which are usually selfish in nature...

If you don't respect yourself, you won't respect others.... R E S P E C T... Good song along those lines.

Because far too many people today have to fully back one side and can't possibly see both sides as having fair points while also having fault.

into a man’s back will create controversy. That’s not unexpected. Maybe additional information will be released that is more convincing either way. Until then it’s a guy resisting arrest and reaching inside a car for an unknown weapon. Use of force seems justified and that’s without the Cop knowing Blake’s criminal history.

Scenarios can be constructed that have less severe outcomes. Other scenarios can be constructed that have more severe outcomes outcomes including injuries to children and the LE officers. What’s the point of speculation _ training perhaps? But in emergencies there’s always limited information and limited time. LE has to react properly “in the moment” and all indications are that the Cop did so. That moment was really short in Blake’s case.

Sad, unfortunate and to borrow Dabo’s term with a qualifier - “visually” disgusting to see a guy get shot. This incident is the wrong case to make a political statement. Big difference between this and the Floyd case _ where the Cops had full control and ample time to create a more favorable outcome.

The police are limited on how they apprehend a suspect.

Aug 27, 2020, 10:33 AM

Many states and all the big cities have taken away several nonlethal weapons and/or nonlethal methods to subdue suspect from their police forces making radical changes to show that they've 'reformed their police forces.'

They can no longer touch the suspect's torso or neck. Basically, cops are limited to securing people by the limbs which means if a strong young man refuses to cooperate you have to make a decision. Either you use deadly force or let him go.

At the Wendy's in ATL as the cops wrestled with the parole violator one of the had the lawbreaker in a chokehold. He quickly released the hold and the criminal took one of the two cops' tasers and ran.

We discussed increased deaths from taking non-lethal weapons and methods of subduing suspects. It's as if the democrat politicians want their police force to stop arresting lawbreakers.

Well said.

Aug 27, 2020, 10:38 AM

the same police force thanked a 17 year old with an assault rifle for helping them and then allowed the same seventeen year old to walk right by them with assault rifle that had just killed two people. For police that are deathly afraid of their lives, they sure seem casual about a white guy walking around with a deadly weapon.

Re: Meanwhile...

Aug 27, 2020, 10:58 AM

Just watch the video after reading your post. That is very strange. That doesn't change the fact that I believe the Jacob guy caused the violence that happened to him though. They should not let anybody be walking around the streets with assault rifles. They should have made them go home and if they refused they should have arrested them. If that was a group of black people I would be curious to see the scenario.
