When was your first game?

Mine was Homecoming 1987 against Virginia. Missed the first half because the friend who was taking me broke his arm while we were playing football before the game. Sat way up high in the upper upper deck and was in awe. I was eight years old and already a Clemson fan but that day had me even more hooked.

That was Halloween and I was certain we would win but I was at the previous week home game vs NC State where we barely squeaked by 17-7 in what was a tough battle! Therefore I was a little nervous but it soon subsided as they couldn't stop us. Another thing I recall about that game is a friend of mine named Tony Scott was playing for Wake on defense that Halloween day. Our tickets were right on the middle of the S that season in "Clemson" written in the bleachers. One more thing is we sat close to a guy in a Spartanburg High jacket who was also being looked over by Clemson. We had played them and I think Ardell Fuller was there qb and he ended up at Vanderbilt. He was being recruited by many huge schools but they didn't want him as a qb except Vandy.

1959 when I but a mere six yrs. old! I believe it was Wake. The first game I really remember was Howard against the Bear when Clemson lost 13 to 10 to Bama after missing two FGs which would have won it! That was 1967.
The most memorable in my life has to be Notre Dame in the hurricane conditions! This was an absolute classic!!
Go Tigers!

My dad took me to the last Big Thursday game. I was 8 years old. My first game at Clemson was against UNC about 61 or 62. I remember we got beat but didn’t care back then. What a great day.

2005 TAMU game with a ticket from my girlfriend's aggie family. I started classes at Clemson in 2006 and married then girlfriend after graduating in 2009. I now live in College Station and previously noted aggie-in-laws have 4 tigers in the family. Is it September yet?..

It was Big Thursday. Don’t remember the year. I do remember being there for the brawl when SC frat guys dressed in Clemson uniforms, ran onto the field. We cheered but realized we were bambozled when they started to dance during warm ups. Then the worst fight I’ve ever witnessed began when Clemson students stormed the field. That was pregame. Tigers won the game. Don’t remember the year or the score. I graduated high school in 63, it was before then.

September 13, 1975. Tulane, yes TULANE beat us like most everyone else did that year. That was the very first college football game I had ever watched. I was a freshman band guy and my very first exposure to College football and especially Death Valley......I was on the field. The first time we struck up Tiger Rag was a rather enlightening moment! Steve Fuller, Willie (Willie’s Return Service) , Warren Ratchford, Jerry Butler, Bennie Cunningham to name a few. Good times. Wow....we’ve dug out of a deeep hole!

and his family. It was a big season because Clemson went on to finish undefeated at home that year if I remember correctly.
I rode 3 hours each way to see the game but that night my friends family took my to a double header to see the Braves beat the Padres in both games.
Hank Aaron batted only once in both games combined that night and he was intentionally walked in that one at bat. Nevertheless what a night!!

1959... Clemson 6 Duke 0. Then two weeks later, back in the Valley for Norm Snead (who played in the NFL for 16 years) and Wake Forest, with the Tigers winning 33-31 in a real barn burner. When Frank Howard met Wake coach Paul Amen at mid-field after the game, Frank reportedly said, "Paul, we outta lock the gates and charge everybody to get out!" I was 10 years old, and that game sold me on Tiger football for life. I can still "see" Harry Pavilack intercepting Snead to end the game. Wow.
And now, almost 60 years later, well... Go Tigers!

I'm in the same boat.... Don't remember mine because my parents took me when I was no more than 2 or so. Where my first memories kick in was walking First Friday with the Kudzu guys, and eventually staying at a daycare that was back behind the Hardee's that used to be toward The Esso.

cold day. Clemson used Greenville city buses back then and dad knew the bus driver and me and my brother defrosted on the bus at halftime and into the third quarter. Came back in the game in time to see Scar fail at 2 point conversion (if I remember correctly). Haven't missed a Clemson SC game since.

Before I was even a hardcore Clemson fan my dad took me to a game. It just so happened to be the FSU game in '88 when they ran the now infamous puntrooskie play. I wasn't even really into football at that time, but I think that game planted the seed that would lead to me becoming a rabid fan. I was 15 at the time.

Was my freshman year, had never been to Clemson prior to that summer. The game didn't go great, but the sold out crowd, the energy in the stadium prior to kickoff, seeing the team run down the hill for the 1st time, had me hooked.

I had moved from Mobile to Charleston the prior year, so had grown up a Tide fan...and was that day...plopped in the middle of the IPTAY section! I remained a Tide fan until my frosh year in '73 when my blood began it's transformation to orange.
Bama...Clemson...my life is quite a football ride, for sure! My relatives still wonder where they went wrong! LOL!
