What happens if

Oct 30, 2020, 12:41 PM

Clemson, Notre Dame (beats Clemson), and North Carolina (beats Notre Dame) all finish at 9-1?

I really wonder if the ACC has given that a thought.

The Tigers losing without Lawrence in the lineup will be heavily considered. But only one loss. The BC game is really a big game now. More so than ever.

Swoffie has already decided it will be UNC.
A farewell gift to himself.

UNC vs. Notre Dame for ACC Championship.

A three team tiebreaker goes to combined record among those tied. In this scenario UNC (1-0) would finish ahead of ND (1-1) and Clemson (0-1). So UNC would be the first team in.

Then it goes to a two team tiebreaker between ND and Clemson, with head to head being the first consideration. In this scenario that would be ND winning that.

So it would be UNC vs Notre Dame.

As long as we are plying the "what if" game....

....then according to your scenario, say ND beats UNC. Clemson would finish in the top 4 in the polls, probably behind Bama, Ohio State ande ND (as long as we are plying "what if" and Clemson would be the second ACC team to get into the playoffs - beating out an SEC team.

SEC fans would go beserk!
