Exactly.
These same whiners would be screaming for another TD if the situation had been reversed.

I wouldn’t. It kills the opponent more when you take the knee and the defense knows they can’t stop you.

No 09 - that is NOT why Dabo put the 1's back in. In case you failed to watch the game, let me tell you what you missed.
Dabo had a 28 point lead going into the 4th, after shutting down the coots in the 3rd as they scored ZERO. It was GAME OVER, time to put in the subs, for BOTH teams. Only your dumb jerk of a coach did not like the idea of losing by 28, so he left his 1's in, even though a complete idiot knew the game was over. Why your ignorant coach has no idea about the game of football is beyond me. So after your coach showed his a-s-s and trying to score on our 2's, 3's, and 4's, Dabo finally said enough is enough, and decided to teach your ignorant coach a lesson that he should have learned in the 3rd grade. Class dismissed. Now go tell your fans and your HC how to play the game from now on if you don't want us to keep humiliating your butts.

Admit it guys. Because at the end of the day, it was very easy to score against Gamecock starters the entire game. And most football fans around the country don’t give a second thought to the SC program - they only know that SC put up some points and lost by 3 TD’s. And it could have been a greater margin had Tigers played starters the entire game. Instead we rested guys most of 4th Qtr and tacked on another easy score. End of story.

Or maybe its the fact that the coot offense was still fighting tooth and nail. 20 seconds left in the game, down by 21, and Deebo was running hard down the field like it was still the 1st quarter. They coot offense didnt stop fighting as hard as they could until the clock hit 0:00, why wouldnt we want to score?

putrid to stop, from 15 yards out. And you're on here ######## about that? So sad. So very sad. Can't imagine how bad it must be to be a coot fan.
Good luck vs the Zips. Should have rested more of your starters when the game was OVER in the 3rd Q.

It's because of the attitude. If SC had conceded with substitutions, then TL would have been out and the offense would have run with backups. If you had watched the Tigers all year, you would have seen that Dabo did not call off the Tigers even if Brice was in on offense. The Tigers were still passing and going to score until the opposing coach subbed out his starters.

Did Dabo convey this info to you or, is this just your opinion which, obviously, has no merit since you state it as a fact. I can understand the Gamecock obsession with taking a knee. Isn't that what they did during the fourth quarter with a 17 point lead in their game with the Gators?
The Gamecocks had an excellent game plan and Bentley and his receivers were having a field day but instead of praising your team for their efforts, most of your fans are obsessed with the fact we scored a TD rather than taking a knee. Rest assured, had we taken a knee all we would be hearing is that the Gamecocks held the Tigers to a 14 point victory. When the Tigers defeated the Gamecocks 56 - 7, was their a point where we should have taken a knee so the margin of victory would have been less?

Really, I believe we backed off some, but they continued on and scored. They brought it on themselves, IMO. Should have been worse, but for a couple of dropped balls and a FG miss.

I apologize for that last score. In the heat of the moment we didn't recognize Will Muschamp's magnanimous gesture of calling not 1 but 2 timeouts so that Clemson could honor our seniors. We mistakenly thought that he considered the game to still be competitive and he was trying to get the ball back. We are so sorry that his kind gesture was misunderstood. We hope this will Never Again hurt your feelings.

I thought SEC was big boy football....They are acting like a bunch of fruit cakes.
When the game was 49-21 at the top of the 4th, if SC had realized that the game was over and stopped playing, Im sure we would have backed off....but since they decided to keep playing until the end, so did Clemson.
Geeze even the SEC crying at the end of the game "just means more".

we live in a different world. Where "how you look" in a win is just as important as the win when it comes to the eyes of the committee. So we are constantly having to extend leads to ensure we are in good standing with the Championship or CFP committee. These terms are foreign to those teams that will never sniff that scenario. Its why ohio state pads the score, its why bama pads the score, its why notre dame beat syracuse by 50 points... ...so you can't fault the ignorant. Plus 3 TD's isn't enough anyway.

Most hypocritical fan base in college football. They would be praising fatarse Muschamp if he did the same exact thing. Don't care enough to look back, but I would imagine that during their little streak they didn't kneel the ball only up 14 points.

you would realize that there is such a thing as the eye test that the committee considers when ranking teams. And, you WOULD be scoring that TD at the end of the game. The days of game etiquette are gone for those in contention.

Any other team I believe Dabo kneels on that ball once you are out of time outs. Straight up truth. You as our rival are entitled to one thing and one thing only. That one thing being how you feel about it.Other than that Dabo don't owe your team a thing. I have no desire to sugar coat or make excuses for my coach allowing HIS players to keep playing against their heated rival. He did because he could and who you are. Simple as that. "Next Year" stop us!

We didn't take a knee because USuC violated the sacred
Nov 26, 2018, 11:55 AM

cupcake rule. When USuC scored on their previous possession and then attempted an onside kick - they violated cupcake rule #1:
The cupcake team (i.e. USuC) shall stop trying to make the score look better in a lost effort during garbage time or risk getting spanked by the superior team (i.e. Clemson) on the next possession.
USuC's worthless 4th Quarter score with 3:37 left on the clock when the game was already decided violated the cupcake rule and indicated they wanted another a$$ whipping. I'm glad we provided them with a quick lesson in humility and upheld our end of the cupcake rule...

As others have said: Dabo gave them the opportunity to concede by putting in 3rd and 4th stringers with 13 minutes to go in the 4th. SCU felt like the game wasn't over with and continued to throw the kitchen sink, onsides kick, using timeouts to stop the clock when the game was clearly over: so we obliged them with their request. Dabo wanted ETN to get the TD record in a regular season game, also wanted to let the other side know if they wanted to continue to score...we could as well, and more often.

There was some finger wagging and trash talking crap going on (I think with Tee Higgins) on an incomplete pass near the Clemson bench, I think that got them fired up so they scored just to shut down the "wagging"...

You know you’ve really lost the plot when you’re trying to compare Dabo’s situation to a situation with a 5th string running back with 10 minutes to go in a game.

09, I doubt this annual game will ever mean anything more than the rival game to USuc but it will continue to mean a chance for the playoffs, Conference Chamionship warm up, and State Championship for the Tigers. Taking a knee days are over from our end. Sorry I had to bring up the Championship word (NOT). 1969 since even a Conference Championship (that word again)??? Stay on the Coot site until you've earned the privledge

in 1968, Ohio State scored with one minute left to go up 50-14 on Michigan. Woody Hayes then went for a two-point conversion.
When asked by a reporter afterwards why he went for two, Coach Hayes said "Because they wouldn't let us go for three".

Reason #1: Game of Thrones - Tywin Lannister - "A lion (or Tiger) doesn't concern himself with the opinions of a sheep (or chicken)."
Reason #2: The last play was snapped with 43 sec to go. It was intended to be a 1-yard dive play that would have left the game clock inside the 40 sec threshold & ended the game. But that porous (pronounced Poor Us) defense let it go 7 yds to the endzone. Oops look what we did accidentally on purpose. Sorry.
