I don't think so. They had a ton of injuries this season so he's getting a pass.
Next year will be important, though.

yes, he is on the hot seat IMO. An article in the local News and Observer newspaper this morning (I’d link it but they want me to subscribe on line) outlines the attrition in their 2016 recruiting class, which was not very good to start with. Brutal. NC State is officially a complete dumpster fire. Doeren has lost the team. They will be the worst team in the ACC next year by far- OK, maybe Duke will give them a run for their money.

I doubt it after 2 pretty good season but he might understand how much better of a coach Dabo is now. I love that he got such a healthy helping of humble pie this year.

I like the Wolft5rds right where they are.
After my wife heard NC State fans yelling from the stands to "break his legs" referring to Trevor, you can only hope for the worst possible state of affairs for that loathsome crew.
She didn't tell me about it at the time she heard it, and to be transparent, I personally didn't hear it.
I wish she had told me. I was in enough of an obnoxious mood at Carter-Finley that night to have gotten into with someone.

The fans of both think they are a football school and that's simply NOT the case. Grandiose delusions, over-exaggerated optimism, and unrealistic expectations abound which means, like CussChamp, Doeren is probably on the hot seat too.

I think he gets a mulligan on this year due to injuries. However, he should be on the hot seat; he just isn't the answer. Then you have to ask, "Who?" I don't see NCSU as a very attractive kob.

Updated:
NC State's last four coaches. Doeren as been the worst of the lot.
Doeren 21-34 in ACC play, 4-7 this season
O'Brien 22–26 in ACC play, 7-5 in his last season (only six seasons)
Amato 25–31 in ACC play, 3-9 in his last season
O'Cain 26–30 in ACC play, 6-6 in his last season
All had only 1 season ranked in the top 25 (Amato had the highest ranking)
While I will hold Sheridan to a different standard, he also only coach for 7 seasons at State. Still he was the last coach with a winning record against ACC teams (last coached in 1992). Think about that.
Finally, TOMMY WEST was more successful in the ACC (21-19) as a coach than the last for State coaches. If Tommy Bowden coached in Raleigh, they might have named the stadium after him.
