After 25 missions, crews earned leave stateside but could continue to fly.

I think it started higher at 35 and was reduced toward the end. MY dad was a waist gunner on a B-24 for 30 from the south of Italy up into Germany and occupied areas. I found mission diary kept by the bombadier. Amazing he came back. Bomb crews had higher mortality than infantry. B-24 was the most produced plane ever. Thank goodness they made them well or 74 wouldnt be here
