There has been a lot of discussion about everyone who is leaving except Smith. Is he ready? It seems with several seniors in the backfield graduating, he would be in a place to have a standout year and get an extra year of seasoning. We don't know his off-field motivation for leaving, but I wonder if this is best for this football career.

He played a very good game in the Sugar Bowl .Came up and played physical against the run and a great pass breakup on the flea flicker.Got a good chance of making a roster.

Might have been a PT issue. His numbers got cut in half this year. He was already losing snaps to guys like Wallace and Simmons. Probably wasn't going to get better next year, and he wanted to go ahead and get out. He's got good instincts and range, but the best he can probably hope for is lighting up his pro day and maybe getting a look in the 5th round.
