I used to have them with my house and cars

Dec 11, 2018, 11:20 AM [ in reply to Farm Bureau*** ]

Then out of the blue they dropped my house. So i dropped them for my cars. They didn't care.

Re: Car insurance

Geico, $38/mo liability and uninsured motorist for my old truck. They will hit me below the belt on full coverage for full market value on my MB project car. I expect $90 to $110/mo. I'll sell the truck.

I'm now over $200 a month for 2 cars

Dec 11, 2018, 9:24 AM

It's ridiculous. Shopped around last year and found nothing cheaper (for similar coverage).

What the heck happens when 3 sons start driving? They're getting a job I guess.

Of course they gotta get jobs.

MauldinT, where are you???

MetLife for all car / home / landlawd insurances

Dec 11, 2018, 10:08 AM

for auto, we pay $129.xx/month....full coverage on 2 SUVs

Discounts for multiple policies, corporate discount, and I MAY get another slight discount for having it automagically deducted from paycheck.

Also, no tickets in years, and no at-fault accidents ever.

Just switched everything to Travelers from Nationwide

Dec 11, 2018, 10:16 AM

Nationwide isn't even in the ballpark anymore, with any type of insurance. Not sure what their deal is now.

I'm down to around $650 every six months for two SUV's, one of them older. Get hit pretty hard on the Yukon.

I got Travelers too

Dec 11, 2018, 10:20 AM

my insurance man switched me over to them also when Nationwide was being absurd.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Dec 11, 2018, 11:19 AM [ in reply to Just switched everything to Travelers from Nationwide ]

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Paying $3000 / year

Dec 11, 2018, 10:21 AM

State Farm, although that may change.

Dec 11, 2018, 11:07 AM

4 vehicles (one with a 15 year old driver), a boat, and a personal umbrella policy....

$5000/year.

It may change because before I added my son to the policy a couple months ago, it was $3000 a year.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpgringofhonor-obed.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

State Farm until about 3 months ago... switched to Geico.

Dec 11, 2018, 11:18 AM

Overall it's cheaper.

When the wifey bought that fancy new (to us) explorer, State Farm got all stupid with the rates.

I priced round and Geico was the cheapest, BUT, the insurance on my 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 went up 4x when I switched. I think it's because it doesn't have ABS.
