Top 10 (or so) Clemson players who didn't make it in the NFL

Jul 9, 2020, 2:36 PM

Maybe they were picked up as free agents, but never made a regular season roster.

Who you got? Top 10, give or take, in no particular order

Boyd comes to mind.

Perry Tuttle was probably the most talented to wash out

Jul 9, 2020, 4:03 PM

DaQuan had injury concerns, so he shouldn't count...James Davis...Justin Miller as a position player

Agree on Davis. Justin played a few years for the Jets, didn't he?

Also...
Boyd, Artavis, Hamilton, Roscoe(maybe), Hyatt, Woody (maybe)

Woody was on the Cowboys roster for a bit, as I remember a kick return by him making ESPN plays of the year if I'm not mistaken. Kid was electric with a ball in his hand IMO.

From Dabo’s era: Jay Guillermo, Mitch Hyatt (still a little early), Ben Boulware, Kendall Joseph, Artavis Scott, and Ryan Carter come to mind as guys who never made a 53. Kevin Dodd and TJ Green made rosters but flamed out quickly.

Thinking further back: Kevin Youngblood, Rob Bodine, and Eric Harmon all had great careers in college but nothing in the pros.

Dodd didn't flame out, he just flat out quit***

He was just coming into his own as a DE, but was drafted to stand up as an OLB which never fit his skill set. The high expectations and foot injury affected him mentally. The business side are him up. It happens to a lot of guys.

Hard to imagine why KY did not find a team.

How about 10 who outperformed expectations

Jul 9, 2020, 8:33 PM

In the pros? Guys like Grady Jarrett, Bashaud Breeland, Charlie Waters, Byron Maxwell

Coty Sensabaugh Patrick Sapp did well.

I'm hoping Tanner does well.

James Davis had the shoulder injury so I was pretty bummed when he left the league.

But let's not forget Charlie Whitehurst! body didn't have to take the pounding, cool girlfriend and money in the bank not to shabby for a long NFL career!

Cody Sensebaugh(sp). That guy played maybe 7 or 8 years.

Dwight Clark. Outside of snagging Miss Universe, I don't

think many people thought Dwight would even have a pro career, much less make one of the most iconic plays in the history of pro football.
