Took my son fishing this morning

Jul 15, 2014, 1:10 PM
Jax_fish2.jpg(95.1 K)

Took the morning off from work to take my oldest son fishing this morning. With the new baby, he needed some father son time with just the two of us.

He caught his first largemouth that was "all him". I never touched the fishing pole. (trying real hard here not to make this sound sexual...i know how the jounge is) He fought him hard and to make it even better I recorded the whole thing.

He was very proud that his fish was bigger than mine...an awesome morning.

Nice sized bass. Y'all throw it back?

Jul 15, 2014, 1:18 PM

Probably would be pretty cool to mount his first bass.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If it has a hole and eyes, Lakebum will mount it.***

We did throw it back...kind of regretting it

Jul 15, 2014, 1:42 PM [ in reply to Nice sized bass. Y'all throw it back? ]

But we do have the video...which I'm sure like most of our videos will rarely ever be watched after a week or so.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Don't regret it. That fish will live to spawn again and

Jul 15, 2014, 2:16 PM

provide more fish for your son to catch in future years.

Replica mounts can be made for I think about $100 more than an actual mount and they last longer. All you need is a good quality digital photo.

Jul 15, 2014, 2:20 PM

If they are fishing in a pond, they need to remove some bass or the bass population will stunt to nothing but ~1 pound fish.

Agreed. And the owner should be managing the fishery and

giving out clear instructions on release or harvest.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who are you, DNR?***

lol no. An avid fisherman that believes in conservation

Jul 15, 2014, 2:23 PM

when possible and where it makes sense.

I mean, do you want to catch big healthy fish or small ###### ones?

Errbody has to do their part. Like not littering.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I like catching big, healthy fish so I can eat them...

Jul 15, 2014, 2:26 PM

Fried bass tail is better than potato chips.

And yes, I eat them out of Hartwell. YOLO
