Three years ago we faced adversity

Sep 28, 2019, 8:40 PM

In the form of a loss to Pittsburgh. The team seemed to learn from and improve after the loss. In fact a National Championship was the end result. Two years ago it was a loss to Syracuse that seemed to act as a catalyst for tremendous improvement and another playoff run. Last year the Tigers faced adversity again against Syracuse but managed to pull out a victory. Again the end result was great improvement and another National Championship. Today the Tigers faced tremendous adversity at NC and managed to survive for a victory. If past is prologue there is a good chance the Tigers will use this game as a learning experience and as a springboard to big things.

Everything you said is true, but,

It’s also true and ok to admit that today, at this point in the season, we are NOT playing like the best team in the country.

That is my point. After the Pitt loss in 16 and after the Syracuse loss in 17 we didn’t look like a playoff worthy team either. One of the greatest attributes an athlete or a team can have is the ability to win when they don’t have their best stuff. Our team didn’t play well today it’s true and they didn’t look like the best team on the field, much less the best team in the country but a win is a win and we’ll hope for the best and see what happens from here. I think the Tigers will be fine.

What’s worse than that we didn’t lose. So we may or may not learn as a team.

If not for NC State missing a chip shot FG

Sep 28, 2019, 8:58 PM

to send us into Overtime, we would not have won the NC game that year. That was the last game I went to with my youngest son, a 2015 grad. He turned 25 years old that day and passed unexpectantly 3 weeks later. He has been watching the Tigers best years from heaven.

So sorry for what I know is a devastating loss.
