Has Sports Illustrated gone out of the print business?

Jan 6, 2020, 1:18 PM

or do they just not care this year?

Every year they put out CFP preview editions for each team. Not this year...whats up?

I wondered the same

I didn’t know if they weren’t printed this year or if folks had gotten so blasé that they weren’t as excited about finding them this year.

They laid off half their staff a few months ago. Hard to produce special editions without staff. They didn’t do any “The case for” issues this year.

That’s the preseason edition not the playoff preview edition. I’m guessing they bailed on that. ESPN did some cost cutting also as they didn’t broadcast a Road to Playoff for all four teams. Instead they waited to broadcast a 1/2 hr each summary of Clemson and LSU.

In a few more years the print business of all kinds will be a thing of the past. Don’t count on the morning newspaper being delivered to your doorstep. I haven’t had a morning “Observer” in six weeks!
