Well the B1G amended tge rules for the buckies

Dec 9, 2020, 5:12 PM

We knew this would happen. Gutless conference a.d.'s.

Clemson and ND should bow out the ACC Championship game

Dec 9, 2020, 5:21 PM

It'll never happen, but it would serve the CFP committee right.

why does anyone think this is a solution

Dec 9, 2020, 5:30 PM

bowing out would have no effect, just make it easier to justify the teams left. These types of boycotts have no effect and are soon forgotten.

Hold on a sec

It would force Ohio State into playing Alabama in one semifinal (and they would deserve the smackdown) while the Clemson/ND winner would go straight to the CFP championship game against Alabama.

I like the idea.

I think you missed the point.

The fact that each team in the CFP semis receives $6 million

Dec 9, 2020, 5:26 PM

was probably never a factor that even remotely influenced their decision (rolling eyes) !!!

This may be correct!
But then expenses. If I read correctly Clemson lost money on previous CFP appearances

After sharing with every team in the ACC, I think they did.

I think I read somewhere that DRad negotiated with the conference that we would split the NCG revenue AFTER expenses, but I don't know if that was an ongoing policy change or just for 2018.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Trust me, we've made money on every CFP appearance

Dec 10, 2020, 8:54 AM [ in reply to Re: The fact that each team in the CFP semis receives $6 million ]

It may not have been from an immediate payout, and true, maybe we didn't come out on top there after expenses. But the boost in ticket sales, merch, exposure and advertising is WELL worth it. Just look at our new facility and what we're able to pay our coaches. And throwing out this year because of the political anti-maskers, tickets are harder to come by than ever.

Our CFP appearances have made us a LOT of money.

They said it was okay to change and make up the rules as they go along this year.

The ACC cancelled games this week to ensure that a flukey loss wouldn't prevent Clemson from getting in. I assume that because you're a rational and unbiased person that you're also very upset about that.

I'm not... Still pixxed about FSU's BS scaredy axxes, tho.***
