criticize our tiger? Your mascot is a nut. Granted very original. However, sometimes original means you are creative. In this case it means you made such an insane choice no one else would dream of copying it. Who thinks the fighting nuts is a fear inspiring name? At least a tiger is one of the top predators on the planet. What the hell is a fighting buckeye going to do? Before becoming a critic examine yourself. In this case you lose.

I think you need to look at the history of the "buckeye" and you will understand it.

They chose something natively found on their land to represent their school.

Or do we need to change it to something on the ground that we routinely step on, because then we'd have to call ourselves the Lamecocks and I don't think that would go over well.
