Murphy brought the overall grade up. Without him it would have been much lower.

Yeah, agree. I would go with a C overall. Losing both penciled in starters basically for the season was killer, particularly in both losses. Murph was obviously the bright spot. KJ looked as promised sometimes but just isn’t dominant yet. Mascoll looks the part, but may just be a career rotation guy in a stacked position group. I’m surprised Upshaw’s stats were that productive. Didn’t feel like that watching the games.
The pass rush just wasn’t there, at least not up to the usual standards. Weird year. Love the guys coming back though and it will be fun to see who wins out in camp.

I have heard that is his plan at this time but he is still not at full strength.

My goodness, how is that possible?

That poor guy. Surely by Spring practice he can get ready to go.
It is absolutely nuts that we could be returning every single player from the two deep on defense except Jordan, and getting Justin Foster back. This defense will be rock solid.

THE REAL STORY WITH XT....
Jan 8, 2021, 2:29 PM
|
|
....What is it ?!?
- What did “protocol” mean in the last two games? - why does this article list him as a freshman? (Fr) - when will we know if he’s coming back?
Similarly, why is Foster listed as missing the entire season for “protocol”. Was he injured or other?

It has been reported that Foster missed the entire season for COVID related asthma issues.
Apparently he has recently seen a specialist and is now making improvements.

We would have been cooked without Myles Murphy

His production was equivalent or more than the next two guys combined. This is crazy considering how much he was double-teamed.
If we hadn't hit the jackpot with Murphy, oh brother!

The fact that Upshaw finished 3rd in tackles despite only playing 169 snaps says A LOT. I hope we see more of him in 2021. I spent many of 2020’s games wondering, “why isn’t Reagan Upshaw in the game?” and never really found a solid reason why.

The drop in our defensive line’s dominance-

is obvious just looking at our sack leaders over the last five years. I didn’t even go back and compare sack totals or tackles for loss by team totals, but I think this speaks volumes.
Clemson sack leaders: 2015- Shaq Lawson (12.5), Kevin Dodd (12) 2016- Carlos Watkins (10.5) 2017- Clelin Ferrell (9.5) 2018- Clelin Ferrell (11.5) 2019- Isaiah Simmons (8) 2020- Baylon Spector (4.5)

In some ways it's hard to even rate since we were missing what should have been our next two nfl'ers.
Let's hope spring and summer conditioning can be normal. Got to be ready for our first game. Imo, probably our most consequential game since DW4 beat the coots on one leg.
