What were the last few movies you saw there before it closed? I remember seeing Caddyshack and Zombie back in 80-81. I think those were my last 2.

When I was in school I saw Hunting Party. Even back then in the 70's I knew what this movies was- one of the worst ever made. And believe me it has stood the test of time

I know what you mean.
Zombie had signs in the lobby about how they don't recommend you to watch it if you had heart problems. Movie turned out to be lame.

I was a student from '79-'84. I remember going to see movies there, but don't remember their names. I do remember seeing one that starred Morgan Fairchild.?? When did the theatre actually close?

The Astro was open when I was there from 1998-2003
I never knew there was another downtown. That’s pretty cool if there was.
