prior to contact. As a defender, just try to tackle a head-down 220lb back by hitting him standing up with your stomach. Not effective and could be a ball cracker.

What's the difference in that play and Nest hit on Gallman? I thought it was because the runner wasn't defenseless. The Mizzu player was trying to cut him low and RB dropped his head. Gillman hit was more obvious.

Main issue is that it’s NOT consistent in both being called and then enforced. Call against ATM today, second one, was just horrible.

I’m all for player safety but this is a contact sport and at some point we have to be okay with that or end it. The targeting rule isn’t doing much and is putting lipstick on a pig.

The latest studies I read, they found that major hits to the body are an even bigger concern due to the whiplash effect. That body gets snapped and the brain is bouncing around slamming the skull like the ping pong balls in lottery drawings.

Can’t hit them in the head/neck and next the body, only ankle tackles soon.

Player for Washington was ejected for it another player hit QB and it spun him around with this other player coming in for the tackle and it was not intended just how their bodies were positioned.
