Hey FBCoach, serious is serious

Feb 24, 2021, 9:45 AM

looks pretty good and a good price. Maybe take them to $18,500? I have no idea what you are working with, but if in your position I would take a look.

kid car seats? They fit in that kind of truck. Sauce?

Me. It may not be that comfortable, but that doesn't bother me because I am comfortable.

May be worse than stubborn_tiger®'s jumper cable experience.

Actually better than in Red's Subaru, which is basically built for kids and dykes.

this is funny

Feb 24, 2021, 10:27 AM

my dad always, always drove a Chevy. He always bought used and they were all constantly in the shop. Its interesting how with Chevy trucks, something is always grinding, rattling or just plain cheap, like the interior furnishings. They have gotten better, but I would never own one.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Our old Yukon constantly leaked oil

Feb 24, 2021, 10:33 AM

It was one thing after another with it, get one oil leak fixed and an auto-ride shock would go out. Fix that, and the auto ride compressor would go out. Get all that fixed and the folding mirrors would quit working. Or maybe a window didn't want to roll down today. And this was a Denali.

My dad has had the same kind of issues. I think his record is a 3 months without the check engine light coming on. Of course, my wife has her heart set on a Tahoe now too.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

####. That's my exact situation. Not what's wrong

Feb 24, 2021, 10:34 AM

but as soon as I get one thing fixed 2 more things go out.

I like your funny words magic man

Yes, that is the Chevy way.

Feb 24, 2021, 10:40 AM

Even partnering with Toyota could not break them of using cheap components and poor quality control.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-lakebum1-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My tahoe was like that for awhile

Feb 24, 2021, 10:43 AM

after about 6-8 repairs (around the 150k miles time) it evened out and became a really reliable vehicle even though I put that thing through hell.

Seems to be the trend with Chevy's. Once you get +100k, everything starts ####### up. Once you get past all of the issues, it'll go for another 200k miles.

or buy a vehicle that you can afford that is

Feb 24, 2021, 11:04 AM

still in warranty. Know your payments and hardly anything else is out of pocket.

Maybe just maybe you need to size down for a while, save money and then get the truck you want. But that is too logical I guess.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I've been making a bunch of extra payments on the truck

Feb 24, 2021, 11:17 AM

since it is older and it's my highest interest loan.

If I sell it for 1k less than I bought it I'll still have a pretty decent down payment. Use that with extended payments for a newer truck and can probably get my payments right where I need it to be.

Just have to clear some codes and clean some oil off before I sell it.

Riiiight. I have a Ram and my dad has a Chevy

Feb 24, 2021, 10:30 AM [ in reply to For now ]

His is a 2017 and he's already had to put like $7k in it. Rebuilt transmission and all injectors replaced, some twice. The Chevy 5.3 is a colossal POS.
