Playing time breakdown: Tigers rely on tight rotation in thriller win

Clemson stuck to a tight rotation in a tight game from start-to-finish versus the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes. Four Clemson O-linemen -- , , and (68) -- and three Read Update »

Proud of Galloway. I expect him to be rewarded with a few passes his way in the championship. Would love to see an OJ Howard type play

No kidding because we finally played a good team. Had we played this way all year how much greater would the offensive stats be? The result when many of those players that played so much are gone next year we will have depth and hopefully will be contenders and/or champs again.

This tells the tale of who the coaching staff really trusts

Jan 2, 2020, 11:22 PM

Tyler Davis (74) had more snaps than XT (64).

The O-line was locked down completely except Bockhorst subbed 3 plays for Simpson. This is not surprising and will probably repeat against LSU if the game remains in doubt.

Galloway actually got more plays at TE than Chalk (33 to 30).

In Tee's absence, I'm disappointed Ngata got only 16 snaps to Overton's 44 but the coaches know best.

I'm certain Simmons (89), Skalski (81), Terrell (89), Muse (89), K'von (88) were burnt to a crisp by game's end.

Overton is a better blocking receiver than Ngata and has earned his stripes. Similar role as Thompson last year

No doubt and he's less likely to have a miscommunication with Trevor.

But Ngata is more athletic, seems to be a disciplined route runner and our WRs were not getting open. My thought was, under duress, Ngata is more likely to get separation than Overton.

Our receivers do a superb job extending the explosive plays of our backs. Etienne only 'barreled his way into the end zone' because of Overton's blocking.

Those guys turn 20+-yard gains into TDs.

ah so its Overton's fault that Etienne scored with too much time left and almost cost us the game. Another reason to play Ngata

kidding

Is Pickney hurt? Seems to be one of our best DTs. Talk about a huge get in last year's class with Tyler Davis.

Did we have a play with no QB ? The OL logged 68 vs. QB's 67

Numbers may just be off a snap. They're provided by Clemson. Can't remember a snap without a Clemson QB out there.

Anyone else surprised that Pinckney

Jan 3, 2020, 11:55 AM

Had so few snaps?

And none for Sheridan Jones, who was a standout in the Spring game?

It may take more depth against LSU to keep more fresh bodies in the game, especially at DB position.

Clemson will probably play a lot more

Jan 3, 2020, 12:04 PM

...players in the NC because we're playing an SEC team. :)
