How about 2021, 24, 25, 26, 29 or 30? Why wait to 2037-38?***

Well, Clemson's all full up until then with its formula of South Carolina + Power 5/Notre Dame + Group of 5 team + a mandated instate FCS team. The exception is 2021 where they have two Group of 5 teams (Wyoming and UConn) and South Carolina. More than two games on the slate ahead with Georgia and Notre Dame and home and home series with LSU and Oklahoma.

We seriously need to rethink that formula until the ACC shows it has a pulse.

Why are we mandated to play an instate FCS team? Whose mandate is that?

SC Legislature

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

SC Legislature?

Oct 23, 2019, 10:44 AM

Is that true? I can't find any confirmation of an actual law requiring that. I have read that the State has "asked" Clemson and SC to do this to help the FCS schools' budgets, but I can't confirm an actual requirement. And if there is no such actual requirement, then we could dump the practice and call the state's bluff.

love Dabo much more!! Has anyone else noticed the number of people in casual conversation when you are out and about who pull for Clemson just because of Dabo. Yes they are bandwagon fans in most ways but some bandwagon fans who jump on stay with the team through thick and then in the future.

The Fag-Bombs cant't be griping about our schedule, we can play second string for the SEC games then tightens up when we play the ACC and have to get out our A-game.

We gotta change our offense, stop with vanilla, get organized playa and stop the Lazy RPO.

We are going to shock the world if we play to our abilities. OC's need to be better. They have not called the best game, being too predictable. If I can tell you the play based off line and yardage, then tell you where ball is going only confirmed by watching TL eyes, i shouldn't be that savvy! Coaching had gotten lazy, saw it for last 3rd time Sat. Those guys are great but they are used to riding the coatails of players and not managing the field. Ridiculous
Clemson athletics needs to fill the stadium; as for me, forget it ----driving 5 hours both ways, 1 or 2 nights at motel, plus food, souveniors, alll else and The Tigers play SCState or Wofford, not me.
I can't justify it. No reason we cant schedule Fla, Ga, Auburn regularly.
We brag we can win regardless, we can But due toa National Championship we must and will adjust our schedule or remain a 5th place so we cant get to National Championship. To fill the stadium you must attract us even if we are diehard fans and Alumni.
You draw their bluff ste a date 2020 and see if they can modify schedules You must change the teams we play or the ACC brand will never rise to the level of respectability we deserve. We are challenging the AD.

" No reason we cant schedule Fla, Ga, Auburn regularly. "

Yes there is. They won't sign up to play us any more. Georgia canceled on us a few years back and it's taken years to get them to agree to play again way in the future.

Cripes, we're already booked with LSU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Georgia and annual games with SCAR for the foreseable future.

2020: at Notre Dame, South Carolina, Akron, The Citadel

2021: Wyoming, at South Carolina, UConn

2022: at Notre Dame, South Carolina, Louisiana Tech, Furman

2023: Notre Dame, at South Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Wofford

CLEMSON IS REFURBISHING DEATH VALLEY, IMPROVING FACILITIES, RECRUITING WITH THE BEST
But AD cant develop 2020 SEC team games ..But you want to sell tickets. We will not allow delay 2025 is too late. You will raise ticket prices and develop skylounges for donors and other improvemments most will endorse and emjoy, but the teams we play non-ACC,,,

Re: TNET: Clemson AD reaches out to SEC AD for potential future series

There is room for improvement over the next 5 years with our non conference schedule. I understand there is a formula that the ADs follow, but we definitely have some weak opponents on the calendar. Would love to have that early season SEC team on the schedule each year....or why not a PAC 12 series. Just my 2 cents.

My thoughts exactly. This weakness of the ACC this year proves why we can’t assume that will propel us into the top 4. Can the FCS team or group of 5 team for a 21 & 22 and make it happen. Almost guaranteed to be a game day location.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that the earth would be uninhabitable in 10 to 12 years. Add to that Gainesville,Fl proximity to the ocean, what's the point in scheduling this game?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: Clemson AD reaches out to SEC AD for potential future series

Oct 23, 2019, 3:14 AM

I've been to Gainesville... it's uninhabitable already.

As for dumping all the cupcakes on the schedule, I'm 100% onboard but we need to doing it two years out when everyone's schedule is already set is a bum move unless we and Florida both pay our cupcakes to play each other. I think everyone but the bean counters could agree that's a win-win.

Seriously, though Gainesville is one of my favorite college towns and that would be awesome.

I'm so excited, I may go have a kid to take to the game with me.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

^^You actually may have hit on a viable solution

Oct 23, 2019, 5:33 AM

Obviously both programs need to pick the 'drop' opponent and have common dates. Still, pairing up the two dropped opponents and sweetening their buyouts a bit could be a win-win. At least the AD's are talking, which is a huge plus. Whoever gets dropped was playing for $$ anyway, so give them what they sought.

Oh, and tell Swofford to sit on a screwdriver...the ACC WILL accommodate Clemson's scheduling effort, unless it's tired of the cash Clemson is bringing into the conference. If UNC can pretend to be an institution of higher learning, Clemson can have a stronger schedule.
