Virginia defense getting Tony Elliott's attention

Most of the attention on the Virginia Cavaliers centers on dynamic quarterback Bryce Perkins and an offense that can score from anywhere on the field. Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott isn’t forgetting about the Cavalier defense, however. Full Story »

Go Tigers!!!

I must be missing something.

In the past 4 games, against VT, Liberty, GaTech, and UNC, the Virginia defense gave up nearly 1,800 yds... about 1,300 of that through the air. The vaunted Cav defense gave up 229 yds passing to Ga Tech... passing? Ga Tech?

I guess the odds-makers are missing out on what Tony is "afraid" of.

I expect it to be a good ballgame... for a short while... then the can of Whoop-a$$ will be opened. Go Tigers!

This game will be extremely close

It will make most of tiger nation sit on the edge of their seats, nashing teeth, in the verge of full acid reflux meltdown. Then the ref will flip the coin and it's all down hill from there ??

"Especially when you have two weeks and it's a huge game. Just wanted to try to break any tendencies that we have going into our championship phase,” Elliott said. “Had a lot of success last year this time of year moving guys around. Any kind of schematic advantage you can get with personnel matchups, we are going to try."

Another major point the national "analysts" don't pay attention to.

When hearing what Tony said on USUC play calling

I cant help but think about the scene from The Waterboy when the the waterboy coach varied from using the little idiots book to coaching book to calling different plays. The opposing coach didnt know what to do.

Elliot just toyed with Muscoot and his staff showing them things they thought they knew and doing something completely different.

Speaking of going outside of this year's tendencies

I expect to see plenty of this in the CFP.
