This was very brave and kudos to her but

I do not believe this is the place to mention a former heroine problem. Give her some privacy.

Last time I checked, that opioid drug you’re referring to didn’t end with the letter “e”

Not to be ticky-tack but when I first read the article, I thought the incident occurred at the famous Lake Lomond in Scotland. This actually took place at Lake Lomand in Arkansas. Substitute the “o” for an “a” and you’re a world away.

Nevertheless, kudos to Ms. Valdes for her bravery!

How immature to try to make a joke out of words in this story. Grow up !

Why do dogs always race to the door when the doorbell rings? It's almost never for them.

Obed, thanks for taking the high road.

Jul 6, 2020, 7:23 AM [ in reply to This was very brave and kudos to her but ]

as the famed chorus of the song goes...

O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland a'fore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.

I think better lyrics in this case are

Jul 6, 2020, 11:54 AM

I caught you knockin' at my cellar door
I love you, baby, can I have some more?
Ooh, ooh, the damage done

I hit the city and I lost my band
I watched the needle take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done

I sing the song, because I love the man
I know that some of you don't understand
Milk-blood to keep from running out

I've seen the needle and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's like a settin' sun

Thirty days, lord and thirty nights
I'm comin' home on an airplane flight
Mama waitin' at the ticket line
Tell me son why do you stand there cryin'

It was the needle and the spoon
And a trip to the moon
Took me away, took me away

I've been feelin' so sick inside
Got to get better, lord before I die
Seven doctors couldn't help my head, they said
You better quit son before your dead

With the needle, with the spoon
And a trip to the moon
Gonna take me away, lord gonna take me away

It was the needle and the spoon

I've seen a lot of people who thought they were cool
But then again, lord I've seen a lot of fools
Well, I hope you people, lord can hear what I say
You'll have your chance to hit it some day

Don't mess with the needle or a spoon
And a trip to the moon
Well it'll take me away, lord they're going to bury you boy
Don't mess with the needle, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

Yes indeed thank God for you being there at the right place and right time. Please know that there is no luck or coincidence in God's world. God placed you there at that time and place for a reason. Thank you for sharing your very inspirational story for Tiger Nation and beyond. Bill

Not luck. It was what many call a God wink. You just find yourself almost stationed in the right place at the right time & a life is saved or changed. Such events have a trickle down impact as well. The ladies two daughters for example.

I agree this was a God wink! I don't believe there is such thing as a coincidence. She was in that place for a reason.

At a minimum, Ana should be awarded a GOLD LIFESAVING MEDAL. The awards are given by the Coast Guard, but this action sure looks like it qualifies to me. Any Clemson Coast Guard Officers who might help move this along?

Thanks Ana. Unbelievable and wonderful story.

Are you sure her name isn’t Jack Bauer?

Jul 5, 2020, 1:06 PM

Well done

Edit: I agree 100% @Harley. She earned that medal.

Great that she was in the right place at the right time but the story was confusing. Loch Lomand is in Scotland and the story talks about Arizona. Where was this? Very poor writing.
