Affidavits do not equal evidence

Someone needs to catalog all of the “sworn affidavits” made that turn out to be worthless over the last four years. Just in the last two weeks we’ve had postal worker and now the so-called cyber security expert provide statements that have turned out to be so inaccurate that they are just as damaging as outright lies.
I thought the idea of throwing these people on Don Ho Island with the fork-tongued lizards was the way to go, but I’d settle for simply excommunicating them from public life,

like the ones we have seen lately need to have a price tag when they are so clearly lacking in substance. These people have ###### with us, and now they need to pay.

They're a starting point for stuff, but not in themselves evidence or proof of anything. Your marriage license is technically an affidavit. It is not evidence you're legally married though. Blows people's minds sometimes. I'd guess 1-2% (at least) of marriage licenses in SC are not valid for one reason or another.

I’m not a lawyer, but affadavits are like ham sandwiches.
“Affidavits must be based on personal knowledge, they must contain facts as would be admissible in evidence, and they must demonstrate the affiant’s competency to testify to the matters stated. And, just as at trial, a factual predicate for the affiant’s testimony is required.”

whale, you cant get an investigation without somebody swearing that a crime was committed
no way to provide evidence without an investigation
