Has anyone attempted to go to the new Popeyes in Anderson yet?

Jan 7, 2020, 4:56 PM

I have made three attempts since it opened on January 2nd. Each time the drive through has been wrapped around the building and there have been people in line to the back.

Once I went in and there were like 10 people standing around without their food yet. Each time I just went somewhere else.

Has anyone else had better luck ?

That's a cajun recipe chicken place . I pray thee ... at least until next Tuesday , avoid patronage lest you be mistaken for a sympathizer .

I feel like a person who's shooting people over chicken sandwiches would've shot somebody over another thing as well .

I don't blame Popeye's .

Went on Saturday. Total mayhem. About a 20 minute wait inside. The drive-thru was wrapped around. They ran out of fries but were substituting onion rings. The chicken, red beans and rice and biscuit were excellent. I'm sure Popeyes has Bojangles attention.

my remembrance from popeyes in new orleans is that it is about three steps up from Bojangles as far as chicken and sides go. of course, I was living near Veteran's, and the Popeyes flagship restaurant was about a mile down the road.

It was like that in Greer for about a month. Then everyone realized that it wasn’t very good. I never see cars there now and it wouldn’t surprise me if they closed. Bojangles is much better, IMO.

i like Popeyes better personally

I was in Vegas all summer and they have them there like on every corner.

Same situation in Conway when they opened here. Couldn’t get in for a month, now it’s a ghost town.

so I am told - someone said they ran out of chicken sandwiches the 1st day. Drive-through did look crowded when I drove past today.I don't want chicken that bad.

I have no idea why they are so slow (though I have several theories). They truly must have the most inefficient training of any food franchise.

Jan 8, 2020, 12:02 AM

I guarantee you will achieve no greater sense of disappointment in any restaurant the rest of your days. Their "service" is absolutely ATROCIOUS. And it doesn't matter which location you go to. They must think that since there are so many lazy a$$ people in and around Charlotte that want fried chicken (go figure) they can literally do whatever the heck they want and define it as "customer service". As a former employee of Chick-fil-A (my first ever job), I'm completely mind blown whenever I go - which is basically never now because the service is so terrible. I try to never eat at bojangles now if I can help it.

years ago on the South end of town that closed down. Anyone remember that?

I never ate there back then, but I did have some chicken and biscuits at a tailgate in Auburn a few years back and they were good. About as good as Bojangles, just a little different. I will try one of the sandwiches when we go to NOLA for the game.

It doesn’t say much for Anderson’s food scene

Jan 7, 2020, 11:48 PM

that a fast food chain is that popular. Although it sounds like new Popeyes locations elsewhere are equally popular.

I guess it partly explains why so many Americans have “the diabeetus.”
