Some great personal news to share today.

I just received a call from my physician here in Raleigh regarding bloodwork I had done earlier this week. I'm healthier than I've ever been; from cholesterol to thyroid levels, everything looks great. Now this might sound like just a normal check-up, but my medical history makes it much more important. I was diagnosed with cancer (Hodgkin's lymphoma) when I was 15, defeated it within a year, and have been going in for yearly evaluations ever since. Cancer-free for 11 years and going strong! 
Kind of thankful for everything I went through, strange as that sounds. It helps me keep everything in perspective. I wanna sign the blue-chip recruit. I want my team to dominate on the football field. But living a happy and healthy life is the best victory of all. Hope everybody has a wonderful day. Go Tigers!

Just had another melanoma screening that was all clear. It is such a relief to know you are going to have some more "normal" time without treatments, surgeries, etc.

My aunt (with whom I'm close) was just diagnosed today with Stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized into her brain. So while that's tough to digest today, I also celebrate with you knowing that some people beat this awful condition.
