Some #### going down on my road

My road is weird. It's a 2 lane back road extension of a main regional road that dead ends into a river. I don't mean dead ends at a nice little landing. I mean the road ends and drops off into the river. An out of town family died there one night because some kids took up the road ends signs.
So everybody who comes down the road we pretty much know. It's right outside of town far enough out that the county cops never come down it, so the town cops don't have jurisdiction but we all have their numbers so they come and help with any issues.
Which is why it is weird as hell that a state trooper would be coming down the road this morning as I was leaving for work.
This usually happens for one of two reasons. There are junkies causing trouble (cop wasn't speeding or had lights on) or, like almost every cop I know, he's dinking down some poor boy's wife when he leaves for work.
Now just have to figure out who it is.
