I don't know why there would be any knock on him..

He fits the mold of safeties that we have evolved to and are starting to recruit...His speed might be a question but not a real big concern...He is a heavy hitter, athletic, and great ball skills. His coverage might need a little work but he can mold into a good cover safety...Some times the best gems are the ones not graded....I am excited about him and prospects like Xavier Kelly...Folks, this kid is a tremendous player and will have success in BV's scheme

"His speed might be a question but not a real big concern."
Scout has him listed as a 4.5 40 time. If that's a concern for anyone, they need help. This kid was a HUGE pickup. Everything else you said about him is spot on.

Great comments! I say put him with Tankersley and let Tank mentor him and get him up to speed ( pardon the pun). So glad he choose Clemson and has given us a strong foothold in Kansas. Go Tigers!

Kansas and played WR

Kansas is not a state with a ton of talent, so his competition has been challenged. Plus, he played a ton of WR in HS and started his recruitment as a WR and is really raw as a safety. He will need a heavy dose of Reed to be a great safety. But his potential is as great as any Safety in this class.

Having a safety commit that also played WR in HS is a very nice thing to have happen . These kids understand routes , they have great hands usually and they are faster than most kids this size .

All over it. He will be a great player for us, if he can lay the wood to an unsuspecting (or suspecting) receiver. I like his size, and his speed is pretty good, too. (I tend to question most recruits who are not track athletes who, supposedly have 4.35 speed, until they get on campus and have one of our coaches put the stop-watch on them). I will bet right now that he makes a great player for us.

He could be Jayron 2.0 at his size if he runs a legit 4.5 40y.

I can see him growing into a Blanks role. Coverage LB in obvious passing situations. I think his speed determines where he is used, but he has a place no matter what.
