ESPN ranks Clemson last for NFL player success in league

Apr 24, 2017, 1:42 PM

Not sure at all how these metrics are calculated and they are probably pretty meaningless but not a good article for us on the front page of espn.com right now. They have Clemson as the overall worst draft value in the bottom 10.

This will change in the next few years.

Hahahaha. Good lord. Please explain that statement. Why does ESPN hate Clemson?

I agree with you - it's a strange article with no definition of what the metrics are.....

Are they sure they added... Grady Jarrett who sacked Brady how many times??? Vic Beasley who just won an NFL award??? Nuke Hopkins possibly best receiver??? Sammy Watkins... etc???

To be fair they should not count our players who were drafted by the Bills. That is a bottomless pit of crap that keep taking our guys and squandering them.

The jury is still out on Watkins. He's not a success or a bust yet.

Recruiting 'hit job' to help their "College Football Nation"

Apr 24, 2017, 2:12 PM

Change the 15 to 5 and that would be the Dabo era... Totally different results, regardless of the 'metrics'.

This is based off the past 15 years. Not a great metric since we stunk for nearly half that time. Would be interested to see one of the past 5 years

Buffalo needs to stop drafting our players!***

Well....To entice recruits, I suppose

Apr 24, 2017, 2:26 PM

we'll have to resort to emphasizing an incredibly high graduation rate and grade average, almost an absence of players getting into off-field difficulties, and, of course, the trophy case

So would you rather be the school that gets more out of

Apr 24, 2017, 2:35 PM

subpar NFL players at the college level or the school that underperforms with NFL pro bowl caliber players?

I think the spin on this article is quite easy - come to Clemson, you'll win games, have fun, get a degree, AND get drafted (possibly with a bigger contract than you deserve).

Among those in bottom 10: Ohio State, FSU, Clemson and Notre Dame.

That article was apparently written by a 17 y old USC fan.

Makes no sense.

They really are mad about our success...

Apr 24, 2017, 4:45 PM

Shouldn't Bama be near the bottom with all the bust they produce. In my lifetime for the number they put in the NFL, very few Bama players go on to have good to great pro careers

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think we'll see a turn around...

Apr 24, 2017, 4:45 PM

I think some of the D guys particularly will do well in the NFL. Lets see this again in like 3 years, especially if Nuk, Vic and Grady keep on keepin' on.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Keep in mind after we beat Bama their FPI after that...

Apr 24, 2017, 4:50 PM

still had Bama number one even though we beat them. So their analytic nerds were obviously educated at SEC schools

so it can be of some real use.
