It's long overdue and if there's one thing I accomplish in my life, I hope it's this: We need to get rid of the god damn Insert key on our keyboards once and for all. It's like a gag key. It only exists so you can hit it by accident and get a stupid, bemused look on your face when you overwrite your text.

Insert. I won't be having this problem anymore because I just popped the Insert key off with a pocket knife. I can only bend so far before I break!

I must then press the num lock key, after having completely and rapidly typing all of my numbers in before looking up and realizing that I had not previously hit the num lock key, so that I can actually utilize the numeric key pad.

seems to randomly be on or off. So I have to turn off num lock on my local PC to turn it 'on' for the remote PC, then remember to turn it back on (off?) when I want to use my local PC again.

There are a lot of charts and stuff that I need to send folks that don’t have the software used to create said charts and it is a whole lot easier to prtsc than to export, format, save as.

You can crop exactly what you want, then circle or make notes on your screenshot to help out the poor dolts.
Newer snip & sketch is OK but I like snipping tool better.

Select the Start button, type snipping tool in the search box on the taskbar, and then select Snipping Tool from the list of results.

Actually, I used to use Jing when I was doing a lot more screen cap stuff. They had a hotekey and a handy little video option to so I could show someone exactly how to do whatever it was they were having trouble with.
Looks like it is called ' capture' now I'm gonna try it now...

Can you riddle me this though: How does one accidentally keep hitting the insert key?
That's not a problem I've ever had. Heck, I don't even mess around that geographic area of a keyboard much except for backspace...but that's a pretty darn big target and my pinkie is like 99.9999% accurate in reaching it.
