Shooting Pool...Or...Poker Playing

Which is really worthy of being televised on a sports channel nationally?

A friendly game of billiards is a true gentleman's sport and worthy of it's own network in my humble opinion. It builds character, teaches applied mathematics (physics) and is a great way to fellowship with brethren of the cue.

Pokeher in the pool.

That'd need to be on a special channel though.

I would rather play pool than play poker. I would never want to watch either on TV though.

some of the shots I've seen on TV are just truly amazing.

I know Geometry is involved in Pool but I watched a guy, who couldn't add 2+2 shoot the daylights out of it.

I enjoy Poker more. Rather play it with friends than watch. Really enjoyed the World Series of Poker about 15 years back. A lot more fun it seemed.

I prefer playing billiards 9 or 8 foot table. Used to love playing in tournaments.

Either can be interesting.

Got a pool table at home and a casino w/ poker room 10' from home. Not very good at either but have watched the best and appreciate their talent.

Unfortunately the men can't get organized so we just get to watch women pool. Women much better than me too.

Remember talking to while watching Seigel, HOF Pool, shooting a match for big bucks. He had a shot with a ball in the way. Massayed the shot, jumped the part of the ball in the way, made the shot and brought the cue ball around the table for perfect position. I said "Dayum, good shot." He calmly said "If I can't make that shot I can't shoot at this level."

Also talk poker with my best friend who has 2 Gold Bracelets, both won in World Champ events LV. Is absolutely amazing what he knows watching other players, we might as well be watching different games. The skill level is fantastic, like chess with different variables.

Poker became much more interesting on TV when they started showing hole cards but I find they take too long per hand, fill time with too much babble.

Poker we just see the highlight hands. One friend watched a final table he was on with a crowd at my house, he finished 2nd in a Bahamas Tourn. Showed 2 hours play, he said they only showed the interesting hands as that final table played 7 hours.

played a good bit myself. It's interesting to see how world class players play their hands. It wouldn't be nearly as interesting to me without the hole cam that allows you to see their cards.

Watching pool on TV has never really done it for me. I remember that black widow chick used to be on ESPN playing 9-ball all the time.
