Scoring offense / Scoring defense

Jan 2, 2020, 3:53 PM

We held Ohio State to less than half their average scoring offense, and we scored more than double their average points allowed.

If we match that standard against LSU, the final should be Clemson 43, LSU 25.

On the flipside, if LSU holds us to half of our average points and scores double what we usually give up, the score at the end of regulation would be 24-24.

I like our chances.

I agree. Clemson's defense has been playing at a very high level for the last six years, while the offense has been high octane for the last five years. LSU, though good, has not played as consistently well over the same stretch. I like our chances.

This game will come down to experience... almost 50 players on this roster have been in and played on championship teams on the brightest stage. You can’t teach that. LSU will be a hard out but I think our team can get it done.
