SEC beats ACC’s Swofford to making a decision!

Dec 9, 2020, 1:10 AM

SEC just announced capacity for the SECCG at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 16k+ for 70k capacity. Roughly 24% vice Cooper’s NC limit of 7% for Charlotte BOA for ACCCG.

In the name of all that’s holy, it’s ten (10!!!) days to the ACCCG game and not a effing peep from the ACC. Not a “we’re working with the governor’s office to maximize attendance and anticipate a decision by December ________ .” Good luck on reaching ACC staff (they NEVER answer their phones) and getting them to return voice messages! Judging by the large ACC staff directory, it appears to be a large, bloated, unresponsive bureaucracy.

I realize with etix they can literally send your tickets at the very last minute with the push of a button but fans need to make preparations like
transportation (plane travel for out of state) and hotel reservations.

Although I’ve had a large number of tickets paid for since September and it would hurt me not to
attend in Charlotte (I went to HS there, Go MP
Mustangs!), maybe moving the ACCCG to Jacksonville would be better for fans who want to attend.

Go Tigers!

I do believe ole Swoffie has checked out. That or he’s still trying to formulate a reply to the SEC commissioner’s previous comments.

He’s too busy counting the bucks he got from the Domerz.

Why is this not surprising. Why would we expect Swofford to be on the ball now after fumbles and interceptions for many many years. This is why the Other conference’s seem to be one step ahead of the ACC.

This isn’t new news lol. The Falcons have already been doing it this way. It’s just nobody wants to show up to watch a loser. But the ACC should get the hail out of NC for the title game indeed! Head to Tampa as well

Wake up from your 9 month nap. The ACC has absolutely nothing to do with the decision on how many, if any, fans will be allowed. The Governor of North Carolina makes that decision and new rules that will close businesses at 10:00 go in effect there. Life is not about football.

As much as I dislike Swofford, this isn't his call...

It's entirely up to the State of North Carolina and Mecklenburg County who have already implemented a 7% limit in venues with a capacity greater than 10,000.

BOA Stadium seats roughly 75,000 which means attendance will be limited to about 5,300.
