Room/Suite recommendation for the New Smyrna Beach area?

Need to take two kids down for a few days and want to base in that area. Would rather not stay on Daytona, but do want beachfront. Will be working our way up and down the Space Coast area.

Any ideas or past experiences?

No recent personal experience but Trip Advisor is the best tool I have found. Just make sure you compare the average review ratings with the stars - reviewers will give a motel 6 rave reviews because it is great for 26 a night.

There is a new Hampton Inn beachside in NSB on Flager Ave (the main strip beachside). Your right, don't stay in Daytona.

Not sure I understand what you are looking to do, but i live down here. If it were me, I would look towards Cocoa or Merritt Island. Much better selection but further South than you may want to go. Many of the smaller hotels that are locally owned are good but use trip advisor to sort them out. You may get a good one on the beach for less.
