Baseball adjustments (and I don't know anything):

Jan 18, 2020, 1:15 PM

Technology has caught up, fight fire with fire.

So the catcher just communicates the pitch through an earbud to the pitcher. Everything solved.

Doesn't the NFL call plays to the QB the same way? No signs and secret codes needed. So why not baseball? It's all the same thing.

Am I missing something here or am I just too simple minded?

yeah that should work. I’m sure the batter would not

hear the catcher speaking...

Sign stealing has always and always will exist. Best way to solve issue is already happening in some levels of ball. Go to a “sequence” of called numbers from dugout. Softball does this now.

Problem in baseball is the catcher “technically” has to give the signs to the pitcher. The pitcher is not allowed to look directly into dugout to get signs from a coach. In softball the coaches yell or signal in signs that are then read from wrist bands both pitcher and catcher wear.

Not sure I ever want to see this happen in baseball though.

come on, the catcher could run back to the backstop and cover his mask where just the pitcher could hear.

Fielders need to know what’s being thrown and where so they can adjust in the field...
